The Elementals. Back story draft.

Hiya, I've been thinking of doing a roleplay (it will be my first one) about people who can control different elements, Fire, Water, Earth, Air etc. But not just those four. It can be any element. Such poison, electricity, plant, ice etc.

I've made up a kinda back story to it so far. Tell me what you think of it, leave me any suggestions about the roleplay as well. That what this is for.

The elementals;
History is repeating itself, old foes are rising, old wars are continuing, and in the middle of it all? Are the elementals.

Thousands of years ago, the first elementals were born. The two greatest mages of all, their names lost in time. Darkness and Light. The two gave birth to four children, each one controling a different element. Air, earth, water and fire. They started experimenting with their powers, combining them with other magics to create new elementals. Soon every element had an elemental to control it, it was only a matter of time before something went wrong.

Darkness meddled with things that were not meant to be meddled with, and it twisted his mind. He declared war on Light and all that followed her, vowing he would destroy the light, allowing darkness to thrive. Each elemental took sides, and raged an eternal war. The war changed them all, they became more powerful, but more violent. Instead of finding new ways to use their powers, they searched for new ways to fight with them, new ways to kill. Ele-metal was the result of this desire, ordinary metal strengthened with elemental power and molded into weapons. These weapons had unique abilities for each elemental, and were used to channel their power in new ways that could be done before.

The war was never going to end, whenever a elemental died its spirit would move onto another host, another human, and would never stop. Darkness and light came to a agreement, a final stand, they fought one on one with the rest elementals forced to watch, but forbidden to help. This battle would decide the fate of the world.

It was Darkness that delivered the final blow, the landscape on which they were in was demolished by the pure power of it, and so was everyone else. He had destroyed everyone, including himself, beyond the point of recovery of elemental spirit.

Over time the legend of the elementals became just that, a legend. Believed by only a few. However, they all agreed on one thing. The elementals were not coming back...

Or so they thought. Elemental spirits are immortal, they cannot die, they cannot be destroyed entirely. Although it's taken a while, they haved healed themselves and are returning to Earth, ready to take new human hosts. It started small, with weaker elements that were not as close to darknesses energy. But gradually every elemental spirit has returned from the abyss. Only Darkness and Light remain. However, during it's time in the abyss darkness has not just been sitting there. It has grown even more powerful, even more corrupt. And once it comes to Earth? Nothing will be able to stop it. Not even Light. The humans will become exinct, the dark will rule...

...So the elementals need to stop him before that happens.
